From the Editor
Welcome to our Ninth SMRJ Journal Issue!
We’d like to welcome you to the second issue of Volume 4 of The Spartan Medical Research Journal
(SMRJ)!
As you will see in the Table of Contents, we continue to receive a broad range of different types of submission papers from different clinical specialties! The primary purpose of our online peer-reviewed journal is to provide an accessible formal publication option for research & quality improvement papers and case reports from Michigan State University COM students, residents, fellows and faculty and associates. We also continue to receive submissions from both Statewide Campus System (SCS) affiliates and non-affiliated authors from other parts of the country as readership continues to grow!
Since its inception in 2016, our SMRJ has now published over 80 fine manuscripts! In May 2019, our team submitted a PubMed article registration application to provide PubMed numbers to all past and future issue articles. We have continued to successfully complete the numerous phases of this complex process and hope to have this application fully reviewed during the early months of 2020. We promise to keep all SMRJ authors and SCS-affiliated readers apprised of this important process!
Our editorial team continues to depend on and appreciate our large number of expert reviewers to evaluate SMRJ submissions. We still need expert reviewers from all clinical specialty and GME areas to serve as members of our Editorial Board. If you have an interest in participating as a SMRJ expert reviewer, please contact Chief Editor Bill Corser.
If you have comments or suggestions, please contact any of our editorial team members. Please remember that we also accept Letter to the Editor submissions.
We hope that you enjoy this issue!
Sincerely,
Bill Corser, PhD, RN, NEA-BC
